Saudi Arabia is transforming its desert with ambitious construction projects, and robots are playing a key role in speeding up the process. The main project, Neom, aims to shift Saudi Arabia's economy from oil to tourism.

Neom's strategic investment arm, Neom Investment Fund (NIF), has invested significantly in Europe's GMT Robotics to enhance construction efficiency. These robots will focus on producing rebar, crucial for the vast amounts of concrete used in Neom's projects.

Ulrich Deichmann, CEO of GMT Robotics, is excited about this partnership, emphasizing the benefits of robotics in construction: increased efficiency, reduced costs, improved safety, and greater design flexibility.

Neom recently invested in concrete production and built a multi-plant concrete factory. With Saudi Arabia winning the bid for the FIFA World Cup 2034, construction activity in the region is set to grow even more.
