Promising review: “When I purchased this kit, I was skeptical and had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised when the countertop turned out unbelievably beautiful. I had a laminate countertop that was in really bad shape, one section was even warped. I sanded the warped section down and filled in the large crater with wood putty thinking no matter how it turns out it has to be better than this. I followed the directions to a T after reading them about five times first, and watched the video about ten times, before I mustered up the courage to get started. Each step was just as described on the video. There were troubleshooting tips and ways to avoid common mistakes, like bubbling.
I have cats and dogs, so no matter how much time I spent pulling cat/dog hair from the wet epoxy, I couldn’t get it all, but I got most of it. It isn’t noticeable unless you’re looking for it. Even the warped section was leveled out with the epoxy. The countertop isn’t perfect, this was my first time using epoxy, so there are a few bumps and small ripples due to inexperience, but nothing noticeable to the naked eye. I was so happy with the final result, I used the extra paint to make a backsplash to match the countertop. (Additional epoxy was required.) This kit literally transformed my kitchen. It is beautiful. I plan to purchase another kit to refinish a dining set in the near future.” —Julie
