Kaos' New Trailer Is Full of Campy, Desperate Immortals

Netflix has released a second trailer for Kaos, its new series about an increasingly paranoid Greek pantheon believing their free ride on Earth is coming to an end.  Feast your eyes, below:

While the new trailer includes our first looks at Cassandra (Billie Piper), Medusa (Debi Mazar), and Lachy (Suzy Eddie Izzard), it also seems to suggest our hero fated to usurp the gods, Riddy (Aurora Perrineau), only manages to do so after a trip to the underworld. It also appears Zeus is able to successfully cast her into hell, for a period, rendered here as a parallel Earth in black-and-white photography. Only now, the ferry to hell is a modern ferry boat, get it? The Gods have modernized. That said, their gladiatorial battles seem largely unchanged, except now the combatants have adopted costumes and personas similar to professional wrestlers. I imagine we can safely expect a lot of that type of thing from this series.

So, are you excited for Kaos? Jeff Goldblum certainly looks like he’s having the time of his life playing Zeus in leisurewear. As do Janet McTeer as Hera, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, and David Thewlis as Hades. As the trailer states, it premieres Thursday, August 29 on Netflix.
