WhatsApp is working on a new contact syncing feature that will come as a future update.
The feature enables users to make use of more than just a single account, making account management so much simpler for all. Through this new offering, users can add another account directly via the platform’s settings without the use of cloned apps.
The feature is clear evidence that WhatsApp wants users to make the most of the best improvements that manage contacts across several devices. This not only helps with privacy but also makes this so much simpler.
As seen in the latest Android beta update by WBI, the app was found to be working on the privacy feature that manages the syncing of contacts. They can synchronize address books with ease shortly and control how contacts get synced for every account separately.
If you don’t want contact syncing on your second account, you have the ability to disable it in the settings. This keeps things separate from each account and is useful when a user has a certain contact list for a specific account. What better way to keep work and personal accounts organized than this, right?
Another interesting feature is that if the user opts to disable the syncing of contacts for an account, the app continues to add sync options for a manual task in the future. So you can still choose later on if and when you want to sync certain people from one account to the next without syncing everyone together on the list.
The fact that users will also get an option to unsync contacts is great if you don’t want them on your linked devices. All synced contacts would be backed up securely if a new contact backup setting option is selected from the privacy tab.
