A Couple of Cuckoos Chapter 149 was a recap chapter where we learned what the relationship between Ai and Nagi was like when they were little. Ai recalls how Nagi would be competitive over little things and would always compete over things. We are shown a scene where the two play on a switch-like device where the two play a game.
The game they were playing was a competitive one and ended with Ai’s win. We get to see the first instance of Nagi’s competitive nature, and how seriously he takes things. He went crying and wouldn’t come back to play with her, but Ai would wait for her to play. It was Nagi’s mother that told him to make amends and be good friends.
Ai leaves to become an idol sometime later, and the first love Nagi ends then and there. Nagi declares he has no feelings for Ai now and wants to be with Ai on the matter. Though, Ai is not convinced as the advances she had made earlier suggested otherwise.
