Boy’s Abyss Chapter 131 will finally start a new chapter in Reiji’s life as he starts to get closure. Not only that, but he also helped Gen come to realize his faults and aim for a better life. But given the last few chapters, it is hard to believe that it ever happened. After all, it was all going to hell with no end in sight.
Reiji’s mother had Gen like she always did but given how he started to change a little due to his encounter with Nagi, things changed wildly. And after a very long ride we find ourselves in a place, physically and emotionally, that was hard to imagine from the first few chapters. But those who have read the author’s previous works had little idea.
As the series reached its conclusion, Gen had done the unthinkable and killed Yuko. But it happened off-screen, and with no evidence, fans were sure she will return to make things worse for them. However, to Reiji what mattered was taking care of Gen at that moment, and even healing him. A task that he saw through.

Boy’s Abyss Chapter 130 was another continued moment where Reiji confronts Gen. Gen was sick of life and wanted to go back to the way things were in their childhood. He couldn’t take adulthood anymore and wanted to end it all, sadly for him, Reiji has moved on. Reiji no longer wants to be the part of lover’s end anymore.
Reiji had grown past this after learning that Nagi had some aspirations too for which she wants to live. He wanted to know those before he could move onto life, also, if he throws in the towel this way, he will just end up being a character in the book of someone else. A thought he deeply despised.
But in the case of Reiji, it wasn’t for that sake, he genuinely wanted to help him for his sake. And his words reached Gen, gave him the consolation he always needed. Reiji pulled him out of the isolated walls he had pulled himself into after feeling guilty for killing Reiji’s father. Reiji helped him remember that he was coerced into killing and that his father could have been saved, but Yuko made sure that he dies.

Boy’s Abyss Chapter 131 will be one heck of a chapter as it will bring closure to one big saga. However, things have not ended yet for Reiji. Though Yuko is dead her body is yet to be found, and Chako has also been missing for a few pages. Moreover, Reiji’s brother and sensei have yet to return.
Chako might have been twisted by the hell that she had gone through, and might embody Yuko’s philosophy in some twisted way. She was seething with Jealousy, and contempt for Nagi for being the one for Reiji and how she had no control over her life. It won’t be surprising if she is the next villain in the series.
But Reiji may as well save Chako just as he saved Gen. But her fall to the abyss was unlike Gen, and her twisted reasons are alive and well. How she evolves or devolves will be a point of interest in the upcoming chapters.
