Flight Attendants Swear By This $20 Outlet Extender

“A frequent traveler recommended this to me. Although I am a frequent traveler myself, I never considered bringing a power strip on a work or vacation trip. Then I saw this small/compact little miracle and had a ‘duh’ moment. Why didn’t I think of that?!

The little strip is about the length of my open hand, and the plug in the back (wall plug) can rotate so that if you need the device to be horizontal or vertical, it can be. We recently took a trip to Alaska, which was part land tour and part cruise tour. Each night of the land tour was a different hotel room. We just took our little Belkin out and charged all our phones, iPads, cameras, etc.; easy peasy. I loved it so much for traveling I bought a second one for in our home (permanent spot) where we have a lamp and soundbar plugged in near the couch but frequently have to unplug one to charge our phone or iPad (or let a guest do the same).” —Filberty-jibet

This charger is great. I can use one outlet to charge a ton of things. So many times I have been in a hotel or airport where electrical outlets are a hot commodity which makes charging anything a pain. With this charger, not only do you only use up one outlet, but you can charge up to five devices at once. I have only noticed a little bit slower charge time if you have both USB ports filled, but if you use the 3 outlets and one USB port, it seems to charge at a normal rate.
Another nice feature is being able to swivel the charger, thus allowing that perfect fit in a tight spot or getting a few extra inches out of your cord when you need it most. I highly recommend to KEEP THE PLASTIC COVER that fits over the prongs to help aid in the rotation, it gives you something a little more solid to grip when you are rotating it. Its a little tough but I like that, I want it solid and rugged, not something that overtime will start to rotate unexpectedly. Overall a must have for someone that has a need to charge more than one device at one time. Even just using it in hotels to plug in my laptop and phone, it comes in very handy because normally just one outlet is available.” —Topperharley

This unit has changed my travel routine. It is a little large, and I could do with the two-outlet version if they ever made one, but let me tell you, this is so nice to have. Minimizes items you need to carry and allows for great versatility. The two USB ports charge quick and still leaves room for three 110v outlets (with current limitations of course). The best feature of this is the plug that rotates with the push of a button. No matter the outlet situation you come to, it can rotate and lock into a new position to allow sturdy and variable access. Can’t ask for more.” —DasGoob

Perfect and in constant use. It has been on five trips with me over the last few months. When I’m home, it becomes a charging station for the family. I’m thinking of buying a second one for upstairs. Best feature: Plug rotates so that it does not block other outlets. I have used it on multiple trips and it has worked with every idiotic hotel plug situation I have run across. I worried this would be a weakness before it arrived but I’ve had no problems at all with it. It is very well made. Trade-off: The plug doesn’t fold for travel. Between the two options I’ve found the ability to rotate much more important. It fits in my small Ebags packing cube along with all my power cords, power bricks, headphones, and so on. Sturdy, fairly compact, and does everything a mini surge protector with 3-outlets and two USB ports ought to do. Charged whatever combination of things we plugged into it overnight, even when overnight meant six hours, iPad mini, iPad 3 and two iPhone 5s were the devices that might have used the USB ports.” —Bb8
