Google Introduces New AI Tool To Combat Increased Hacking Attacks On YouTube

YouTube is one of the world’s most popular streaming apps thanks to the huge number of creators. However, the growing rise in hacking attacks is causing concern for many users.

This is why the Android maker has decided to introduce a new AI-based tool to combat the growing number of problems linked to hacking. Before, creators had to wait long so they could get support contact. Now, they can directly use the tool for this same purpose.

For those who might not be aware, YouTube is one of the leading online apps in the social media game. With a user base comprising millions and the free-of-cost functionalities, it makes sense why popularity is at its peak.

Despite the massive reach and viewership, hacking has remained a serious concern for so long. Many hackers target accounts routinely. Creators continue to leave feedback on how the app can better the problem and finally, Google has paid heed.

Creators can recover old accounts with the new AI tool that serves as a channel assistant. As per the tech giant, the tool guides users through an array of questions related to their accounts and channels on the app. Logins get secure, any changes made are reversed, and what you end up with is your old account in no time.

The tool needs to first confirm that hacking has taken place and access can be regained without additional support. As per Google, creators are advised to look for signs that indicate hacking, For instance, any change to a profile picture or a video upload that the creator never gave authorization for.

To get access to the tool, users need to go to the app’s Help Center and ask for troubleshooting assistance. While it might be up for grabs in English only right now, we do hope to see more features rolled out to the masses in different languages soon.

As per Google, it will be accessible to every creator on the app with time. Similarly, the support page shares what creators can do if the problem still persists. Simply reach out to the YouTube team through your X account and get assistance.

For now, it’s not just a rise in hacking attempts that the company continues to face. The app is still dealing with issues related to posting inappropriate material that targets minors and NSFW-themed ads. These do pop up routinely for some members. Thankfully, the new tools will combat this as well, giving creators a little relief.
