Google Meet Users Can Generate Summaries During Video Calls Thanks To Gemini

The pain of taking notes and generating summaries during a video call is annoying for many. But it seems like Google has found the perfect solution to that.

Google Meet users can now make the most of the popular AI chat assistant Gemini who will take notes for them. So any key pointers discussed would be gathered and a summary would be generated at the end of the video or conference call.

You can bid farewell to tedious word-by-word transcription and instead, make the most of this useful endeavor. The feature makes use of Gemini’s AI inside Google Docs that pops up in the Google Drive of the meeting owner.

You can send out the document automatically to all attendees or simply incorporate it inside the calendar event when the meeting has ended. Furthermore, it gives users the option to add more links to the meeting’s recording as well as a transcript when features are enabled.

Customers on Google Workspace that have the Enterprise, Education Premium, and AI Meetings features as add-ons are the lucky few to get the rollout first. For now, it’s limited to the English language for all computers and laptops.

We’ve seen Google speak about its plans to entail more Generative AI features in 2023 and slowly but surely, that’s happening. The Android maker also spoke about the aggressive inclusion of AI in both its hardware and systems.

Right now, Gemini is popping up across different Workspace platforms and also into Android. Now the question is how useful the features are and according to us, it depends on how great the AI works and what the accuracy rate for that is.
