“Grand Blue” is a comedy manga written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. The story follows the life of Iori Kitahara, a college student who moves to the seaside town of Izu to attend university. Grand Blue: Chapter 83 Recap
In the previous episode, Sakurano and Kitahara prepare to go out on a date together. Sakurano is frustrated after having to postpone the date plans multiple times, and Kitahara succumbs to the pressure and agrees for the date. Kitahara is in his bed thinking about the date on Saturday and he begins fantasizing about Sakurano.
Kitahara assumes Sakurano to be much more experienced than him and decides not to make a move on her till they are on an equal footing. Kitahara’s train of thoughts diverts to Cakey as he begins thinking of her. On Saturday, Sakurano and Kitahara go rock climbing together on their date. Kitahra begins to fantasize about Sakurano again as she climbs the wall.
Sakurano remembers the conversation she had with Cakey where Cakey was jealous about Sakurano and Kitahara going out. Sakurano tells Cakey that she wouldn’t make a move on Kitahara but she won’t decline if he makes a move on her instead. Throughout their date, Sakurano tries to provoke Kitahara into making his move.

Sakurano and Kitahara go drinking where Sakurano tries to get Kitahara drunk so would finally take up a chance to show his interest. Sakurano did research on how to get Kitahara drunk and her plans seem to be succeeding. On the other hand, Kitahara still doesn’t want to make his move since he thinks Sakurano will be disappointed with his inexperience. In the end, Kitahara ends up getting too drunk to do anything at all.
