The new novel adaptation of manga is getting pretty famous among manga lovers. After reading it I found that its story is quite similar to Solo leveling Webtoon. The latest chapter of the manga has kept all its fans in suspense for a week.
When the story was about to get interesting, chapter 16 ended. Chapter 16 was a pretty decent one with a cliffhanger at its end. I was hoping for the humanoid monster to look dangerous, but it looked like a normal human. But we can’t yet judge him without seeing him fight.
I am getting suspicious about Rufus as he was the only one who survived the Humanoid monster attack, it wasn’t because he was strong, but I think he had some connection or deal with the humanoid monster. I am making this assumption because when Luluri told Jade to retreat, Rufus interfered and started criticizing Jade.
All this is my guess, and it could be wrong. In the next chapter, we will see Jade and his Guild member fight the humanoid monster, and it won’t be easy because the humanoid monster ready killed many of the bosses easily, which they were having a hard time defeating. Jade and his guild members have reached the 4th floor of the Chalk Tower. On the fourth floor, there weren’t any humanoid monsters, and they didn’t encounter any floor bosses on the third floor either. Jade was using his second skill (Hundred-Eyed Beastmaster), which is an ability that enhances the sensitivity of the five senses beyond human limits, allowing for the detection of enemies over a wide range from slight sounds, smell, and auras.
Thanks to this ability, they were able to battle powerful monsters. The skill is quite a handful, but it works as a double edge sword as it consumed a lot of energy from its user and can’t be used for hours.
Luluri advised Jade to retreat as the weakness from using his skill wasn’t being healed by a healing light spell. Jade thought that he would have decided to retreat without hesitation because if the guild’s leader gets weakened, it would increase the chance of the party getting wipeout. After hearing Luluri’s advice, Rufus came to argue by saying Jade is exaggerating by just using his skills for a short time, and yet he calls himself the strongest tank in the guild.
Luluri counters by saying because of Rufus attacking without waiting for Jade to rescue Aggro puts even more burden on Jade. Jade told her to stop fighting with Rufus and told Rufus to keep a guiding crystal with him so they could know if he is in danger. Rufus refused to take it and threatened Jade that if he kept complaining, then he might leak Alina’s true identity in town. After resting on the fourth floor for some time, they resumed their task and started heading to the next floor.
As they reached the end of the fourth floor, they saw a huge door. As soon as Jade opened the door, a strong smell of blood came from it. It was pitch dark, so he asked Rowe to make some light. After Rowe made some light, they saw huge chunks of meat in the room, Jade was shocked seeing it. It seems like previous bosses were defeated by someone in the room.
A tall man came walking, saying they were all weak and boring. Even by activating Hundred Eyed Beast, Master Jade couldn’t sense him. Rufus pointed at the man, saying he was a Humanoid monster.
