Taking place during the Warring States Period of China the story is about an orphan boy who wants to be the most fearsome general in all of China. After losing his parents to the war Shin along with another boy Hyou was taken in by the Village Elder. The Elder treats them very poorly. Does not even let them be in the residence. He feels entitled to their life as he rescued them.
The boys, therefore, have become close amidst all their hardships. When they are not doing chores for the ender they will be dueling each other. They are equal in skill with most of their duels ending in ties. Over the years they have become quite skillful in what they do. Their dream is to join the army and rise to the rank of General.
One day as they were dueling they catch the eye of a Palace Official. He was amazed by their skill and inquires about the boys. Later goes on his way. When the boys reach back home they see the same man at their house. They see the Village Elder treating Hyon with respect which they find very suspicious. The Elser, Hyon, and the man from before go inside to chat.
Hyon After Winning His 333rd Duel Against Shin – Kingdom Chapter 001
It turns out that the man wants to recruit Hyon into his service at the palace. He will become a military officer. The very thing he always dreamed about. Shin is just outside eavesdropping on the conversation. Hyon asks for a day to think it over and the man obliges. That night Hyon tells Shin that he is taking the job and that he follow him.
Before long a month goes by. Shin learns from a traveler that the palace just went under a blood coup d’état. And that it’s most likely that Hyon was one of its many victims. That same night a bloodied Hyon comes to their house to meet Shin for the last time. He is missing an arm and is on the brink of death. He passes away in his best friend’s arms but not before giving him a message.
Kingdom Chapter 749 Recap – The Story Till Now
In Chapter 749, the war is still raging at full strength. Shin who now is a captain is in charge of the Hi Shin Unit. He volunteers to be the rear guard but is denied. Instead, he is asked to take the vanguard and secure a way out of their current predicament. Shin is hesitant but is convinced by his comrades to go to the front lines.
They explain how their chances of survival increase if Shin is on the front lines. Shin asks Naki to count ahead and find them an escape route. However, Naki has other ideas.
Kanki vs Lord Riboku – Kingdom Chapter 749
In the midst of the battle, he says that he is returning to Kanki. And there is no changing his mind. They try to convince Naki to do otherwise but he is not budging.
Shin has no choice but to respect his wishes. Naki goes on his way and the Kanki clan follows him. They tell him that their loyalty lies with Naki and not Hi Shin. Naki allows them to accompany him. Then the battle shifts towards Kanki. There we see an injured Lord Riboku finally coming face to face with Kanki. Their battle will be legendary.
Kingdom Chapter 750 Spoilers – What To Expect From The Upcoming Chapter?
At the very end of Chapter 749, we see Lord Riboku saying he wants to have words with Kanki. Riboku is very injured in comparison to Kanki. Kanki does not appear to have any wounds to speak of. But the same cannot be said for Riboku whose entire right side of his face bleeding. Their battle will be quite spectacular. It’s a shame that we have to wait a week to witness it.
Furthermore, Naki is coming with some reinforcements but they might not be enough to sway the battle in their favor. Shin should be moving to the frontlines now. Without Naki, he must find a way to secure safe passage on his own. Or trust someone else to do it. Losing Naki will surely put the Hi Shin Unit at a disadvantage. Hopefully, Captain Shin’s might will be enough.
