Lee Kiyoung finds someone with high stats and goes with him.
Lee Kiyoung acts as if he cares for him, and somehow they escape. The person he selected as his Meat Shield is Park Deokgoo. They ally to stick together. In Regressor Instruction Manual Chapter 79, we saw Song Jungwook on the frontlines getting ready for the Monster Wave. He is under the impression that Lee Kiyoung is helping him become the Hero of Kesslock. But we know that is furthest from the truth. We see Cha Heera looking menacingly at Jungwook. She tells Lee Kiyoung that she does not trust him. He looks like he is hiding something.
Such are the instincts of the Mercenary Queen. Lee Kiyoung tells her not to think about it that much. The battle horn is heard throughout Kesslock. Lee Kiyoung using sound amplification magic, starts issuing commands. The Little Rock in the Front, The Red Mercenaries along the Central Wall, and The Blue Guild in the back. Monsters start pouring in, and thus the battle starts.
The battle is fearsome. We see Hyunsung and Kim Yeri make short work of some Snake Monsters. Everyone is fighting hard, and Lee Kiyoung is impressed by the performance of his peers under his command. But one thing annoys him. Even though Song Jungwook is on the frontlines, he still continues to live. Furthermore, he keeps looking back at Lee Kiyoung from time to time.

He drops his guard when he realizes that it is Cho Hyejin. Hyejin tells them that she was sent personally by Lee Kiyoung to assist. Hyejin was Lee Kiyoung’s Plan B. Since the monsters failed to do so, he was left with one other option. Deal with it himself rather than leaving it up for chance.
He kept up with the monsters all this time. He proved himself to be quite the warrior. But is it enough to defeat Heyjin? She is a Vice Guild Master, after all. His stroke of luck must have run out. Their battle might not be much. We know Cho Heyjin is strong. The only thing to figure out is if Song Jungwook is more potent than her or not. The monster wave should last at least till the next chapter. They seem to be handling it well at the moment.
