Though he’s played the role across countless films for over two decades, Hugh is still achieving firsts as Wolverine, including officially joining the MCU when the movie is released nationwide on July 26. But an even more anticipated feat is finally coming to fruition. For the first official time on screen, Hugh Jackson dons Wolverine’s signature yellow and blue superhero suit from the comics. Notably, Hugh said Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, proposed the idea after Hugh told the actor he wanted to appear in the film alongside him. Hugh recalls Ryan saying in response, “We’re going to do the yellow and blue.” “I was like, ‘Alright, I’m in,” Hugh continued, though he wasn’t all too convinced. “In my head, I was like, ‘I don’t know if it’s going to work. I just don’t know,” he said. Soon after filming started, he quickly realized, actually, yes, it would work. “As soon as I put it on — he had his Deadpool suit on, [and] I had mine. We walked onto set [to] 100 crew members who’ve done 100 movies [and] seen everything — you could hear a pin drop. It was just a hush,” he said. Hugh even got Ryan’s clothing dresser to tear up. “He started to cry,” Hugh said, noting the dresser’s kid’s name is Logan. “He goes, ‘This is the best day of my life.'” Ultimately, Hugh was pleased with the suit, except for one understandable aspect. “It’s the best. It looks so good. It feels so good, except when you’re urinating. It does not feel good. It’s like a labyrinth,” he said, noting the suit is “worth it.” Source link
