In the previous chapter, we saw Fran following the suspicious people who intended to hurt the dancer. Fran jumps in front of them with her sword, challenging those people and warning them to step back. One of the goons steps forward and asks others to redirect while he holds Fran in the alley.
The goon uses magic to keep Fran mobile at one place and begins shooting needles at her. After that, he tries to strike her with his sword but Fran overpowers him. Using her magic and sword, she defeats all of the goons one by one. The dancer completes the dance successfully and Fran realizes that the war dance she was doing also exorcised some low spirits in the area, since she had the unique skill called “Evil Crusher.”

The scene cuts to another location where a man is talking to the goons, telling them that they failed to interfere with the dance and that the experimental subjects in the slums might have lost some power as a result. The man named Zelyse talks about Fran in ominous, foreshadowing future encounters.
The next day, Fran visits the Lord’s Mansion where Flut and Satya are staying. She prepares some tasty meals for everyone there and tells them that she plans on participating in the contest and submitting her curry. After Fran meets Lord Chryston, she departs to hunt monster meat at the haunt for the contest at the end of the day.
