Robinne also shared that before writing The Idea of You, she’d written a semi-autobiographical novel about her past relationship with a younger guy. While the book never sold, she borrowed traits from that character and repurposed them for The Idea of You. “I made him into my dream guy,” she said, “like Prince Harry meets Harry [Styles].” Hayes is also a bit of her husband, her ex-boyfriends, and Eddie Redmayne.
