Kurokata began penning the action fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2014. Kadokawa began publishing the series featuring illustrations by KeG in March 2016 and released the 12th volume in March 2020. The series has a cumulative 2.83 million copies in circulation.
Reki Kugayama began serializing a manga adaptation on Comp Ace in April 2017. Kadokawa shipped the 12th volume on March 25.
One Peace Book licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English in 2022. The light novel’s first volume was released on August 23 while the first volume of the manga shipped on November 22.
