DataGrail debuts Managed Services to simplify data privacy management

Data privacy compliance startup DataGrail Inc. today announced a new managed services offering designed to offload the burdens of day-to-day data privacy management.

DataGrail said its Managed Services offering relieves companies of the complexities associated with routine data privacy management. Managed Services is aimed at streamlining corporate resources and eliminating the need for extra personnel by taking on the tasks of data subject request, or DSR, fulfillment and data mapping.

The new service has been created in response to the ever-changing landscape of data privacy regulations and the escalating volume of DSRs, factors that make it increasingly challenging for companies to comply with their privacy obligations.

Leveraging risk intelligence, DataGrail is claimed to be well-set to oversee the data privacy programs of the company’s customers. The data mapping abilities in the new release are enhanced by more than 2,000 integrations and DSR automation features spanning various internal data systems such as custom databases, data warehouses, unstructured data stores and proprietary apps. The company’s Risk Intelligence offers scope into potential data hiding spots, reducing risk and ensuring efficient and accurate DSR completion.

Managed Services also includes input from technical privacy specialists who act as “thought partners” to tackle complex and sensitive issues involving privacy and legal issues within companies to review and resolve. A well-defined escalation path in the service is also provided for any critical matters.

The new Managed Services offering provides additional value for existing users of DataGrail’s Request Manager. Customers gain access to a dedicated privacy manager to ensure timely DSR processing, coordinate internal stakeholders in the DSR lifecycle, document processes end-to-end and deliver necessary training assets for scaled DSR processing.

It also fosters continuous process improvements, the company said. Additional benefits for those leveraging DataGrail’s data mapping capabilities include stakeholder engagement for data mapping exercises, risk assessment creation, approvals tracking and project planning.

“Consumers expect control over their data, and companies have a responsibility to respond to their requests promptly and comprehensively,” said co-founder and Chief Executive Daniel Barber. “Doing so enables them to maintain brand trust and loyalty. But privacy management has become a big enough issue that businesses need help. With DataGrail Managed Services, companies easily address the rapid changes in the data privacy landscape so that they can be confident their DSRs are processed thoroughly and correctly so that their customers’ rights are protected.”
