I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too is an anime adaptation of the serialized Japanese novel penned by Miku and brought to life by Rein Kuwashima after its debut in Japanese television (Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, BS11 and SUN) the show also made its way to the popular streaming platform Crunchyroll.
With initial good reception, the show continues to land weekly, telling us the adventures of Yuya, a nerd with no social skills, an obesity problem, and the object of bullying who discovers an interdimensional portal in his late grandfather’s home where he gets lots of magical powers that transform him into a hero who is fit, has his ways with the girls and faces all sorts of challenges.
After his transformation, he goes back to school and has his pound of flesh with his bullies, and while no one really recognizes him, only a few around his tight circle do. One of them is Kaori, who offers Yuya a spot at an academy her father runs, which gives way for Yuya’s siblings and those around him to profoundly scorn and envy him. As the chapters progress, we see how Yuya adapts from being unpopular to the center of attention, offering us a glimpse at his character development concerning his physique, wealth, and social abilities.

The last episode had a lot of things going, and it was all about Yuya’s travels around a parallel world’s deep forests and his encounters along the way. He finds a Fenrir puppy —he calls it Night— and takes him back to planet Earth, but while he’s doing his travels and stuff, he brings more attention to himself. After some encounters and chats with Kaori, he goes on another interdimensional travel, takes the puppy with him, and together they kill a magical deer who drops a magical item that gives Yuya relaxing baths. Then he goes into a cave and finds a book called “The Book of the Sage.”
As it turns out, the book belongs to a person called “The Sage,” that’s the original owner of Yuya’s place right now, the one he got from his late grandpa. The Sage tells in his book everything one must do to become a deity, but after finding out how to do it, the Sage decided not to become one because he’d lose his human aspects.
As we find out, Yuya tries to make some friends, and the book gives Yuya the power to make some friends and learn a few magic tricks. At the Ousei Academy, there’s a camping trip, and Yuya goes with Akira, Rin, and Kaedi. Yuya’s hyped about it, and Kaori joins him for some camping items shopping ahead of the trip.
During the trip, there’s a fire, and the girls and boys flee in fear, but then Yuya pops in with his newly-acquired powers and rescues them. Then in a parallel universe, Arselia, the King, plots against Yuya, and then a dark aura announces her plan to destroy the world, leaving us wondering how Yuya is going to juggle with real-world and parallel universe problems.
