After receiving much criticism, Aoi finally decides to make her relationship known to everyone by asking Eiji out on a date. Eiji gets stunned at this move but still agrees to go. Finally, the day arrives and Eiji decides what to wear as he only has anime merch. He finally decides to wear a plain t-shirt.

He reaches the meeting spot 30 minutes early and so does Aoi. Aoi’s beauty makes everyone look their way and even Eiji gets speechless for a few moments. She apologizes for being late even though both of them got there early. Eiji still can’t fathom the fact that he’s on a date with such a pretty girl.
Aoi decides to centre the date around Eiji’s likings and so they visit an anime merch store. It is also kind of clear now that even Aoi loves otaku stuff. They roam around to various places and finally return home. On their way home, Eiji asks if Aoi would like to go on another date and she happily agrees. Meanwhile, we see Shigeru following them throughout their date.
The next day at school, Aoi and Eiji enter the class together. Shigeru stops Eiji and tells the whole class about their date and makes fun of him by saying that a nerd like him should never be with someone like Aoi. He even makes fun of Eiji’s dad which makes him angry and he lashes out. While praising his dad Eiji gets really close to confessing his love for Aoi but Shigeru stops him.
