New 'Captain Tsubasa' TV Anime Gets Second Season in Fall 2023

The official website of the new Captain Tsubasa television anime series announced a second season on Thursday, adapting the Junior Youth-hen. The website also revealed the main staff, cast, teaser visual (pictured), and a teaser promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in October 2023 on TV Tokyo.

The main cast is reprising their roles from the first season, with Jun Fukuyama (Osomatsu-san) joining the cast as Karl Heinz Schneider.

Yoichi Takahashi serialized the original soccer manga in the Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from March 1981 to April 1988. Takahashi serialized multiple sequels over the years, with the newest one, Rising Sun, serializing in Grand Jump magazine since December 2013.
