Return of the Disaster-Class Hero: Chapter 52 Recap
In the previous Chapter, Hugo sees his power floating inside the Blood Fog, just out of reach. Hugo is defeated and ready to give when he gets flashbacks of him and his family enjoying spending time together. Motivated by the memories of his wife and children, Hugo finally reaches for his powers and reclaims them as his own.
Geon breaks through the Blood Fog’s body, trying to find Hugo. Upon finding Hugo, Geon yells his name repeatedly and tells Hugo that he still has a lot of things left to do, so he can’t die here. Geon extends his arm towards Hugo, who grabs it as they both break out of the Blood Fog’s body together.
Geon leaves Hugo with Sungjae in an unconscious state and begins fighting the Blood Fog. Using his skills and relics, he almost finishes off the monster. The Blood Fog is enraged after realizing that he is sure to be defeated without even taking anything significant. He makes a final attempt to wreck as much destruction as he can, using his branches still spread out through the ruins and attempts killing Sungjae and Hugo.

Hugo finally awakens and begins to obliterate the monster and block his attempts at destruction. A giant pillar of fire forms in the middle of city, amazing everyone as they watch the broadcast of the fight happening in the ruins. Hugo finally restores his powers fully, and uses his skills to destroy the corrupt branches spread through the city.
Hugo uses his divine powers and lands his final attack to obliterate the enemy. The Blood Fog is defeated, and Hugo and Geon have an emotional reunion. Geon shows Hugo the orb he took from the monster while fighting him, and breaks it with his powers. The souls of the people trapped in the orb escape to their right bodies – including Sunjae’s mother.
