The release of the 2nd episode of the brand-new Korean drama, Run Into You, has been announced. The beautiful narrative of time travel has already started with the release of its first episode. Kang Soo Yeon and Lee Woong Hee’s Run Into You, which also goes by various titles like “My Perfect Stranger,” “A Chance Encounter,” “You, Whom I Met By Chance,” “Bumped Into You,” and “Eojjeoda Majuchin,” launched its first episode on May 1, 2023, after the release date getting postponed since 2022.
The narrative of the K-drama revolves around two strangers, Yoon Hae Joon, a journalist, and Baek Yoon Young, a worker at a publishing house. When Baek Yoon Young’s mother gets murdered, her life falls apart. However, one day, Yoon Young and Hae Joon travel back time to the year 1987 and get trapped there.
During their stay in 1987, Yoon Young runs into her mother’s younger self, Lee Soon Ae, and her father’s younger self, Hee Seop. She sets on a mission to prevent her mother from falling in love with Hee Seop. On the other hand, Hae Joon, while trying to solve a murder case, somehow connects with Yoon Young and him.
Apart from an interesting plot, Run Into You has a fresh set of cast, with some never-seen-before pairings. The lead pair includes Kim Dong Wook as Yoon Hae Joon, who is known for his supporting roles in Coffee Prince and main role in You Are My Spring; and Jin Ki Joo as Baek Yoon Young, who is known for her roles in K-dramas Come and Hug Me and Homemade Love Story. These two actors have been acclaimed for their good acting skills and professionalism.
Apart from the above-mentioned actors, the series also features Seo Ji Hye playing Lee Soon Ae (1987), Lee Won Jung playing Baek Hee Seop (1987), Lee Ji Hyun as Lee Soon Ae (2021), and Lee Kyu Hoe as Baek Hee Seop (2021) in supporting roles.
Run Into You Episode 1 Recap
In the first episode of Run Into You, the viewers are introduced to the main characters, Yoon Hae Joon and Baek Yoon Young. Yoon Hae Joon is seen working as a journalist, who has just started his career and is a kind person. On the other hand, Yoon Young is seen working at a publishing house, but she does not quite like her job as she always wanted to be an author. However, due to her personal issues, she ended up working as a publisher. She is not at all happy with her work, which is why she always seems to be irritated, which also affects her relationship with her mother.
Hae Joon and Yoon Young do not know each other at all. One day, after returning from work, when Yoon Young finds her mother killed by someone. Her life shatters. The next day, she suddenly finds herself in a new place after getting into an accident with Hae Joon’s car. Unable to understand what is going on, however, they learn that they has traveled in time to the year 1987.
