Stockton Rush Wife: Who Is She Related To?
The wife of Stockton Rush, the pilot of the missing submersible, is a descendant of a couple who died on the Titanic shipwreck, Isidor Straus and Ida Stratus, his wife. They both were first-class passengers on the Titanic who died in 1912 during the ship sank into the ocean. Wendy Rush is invented to be the great-great-granddaughter of the Stratus couple, who is also the Macy’s department store’s co-owner.
The Stratus couple were the wealthiest on the Titanic. As per various reports, Isidor Straus is said to have denied any opportunity to leave the ship and board a lifeboat while the children and women in the ship were evacuated from the liner that was sinking. She was determined not to leave her beloved husband behind.

Richard Weil Jr, their son, later worked as Macy’s New York’s president, and Dr. Richard Weil III, his son, is the father of Wendy Rush, according to the Straus Historical Society’s Executive director, Joan Adler.
