It was obvious that all of this was not a one-man job. It is where this episode comes in and tells us about how Bruno was actually aided by Peia along the way. The two have been a team since they were little kids and even had a relationship at one point. Although, things start turning sour when Peia warns Bruno about his way and how they can be pretty dangerous.
Well, he knew the consequences and still chose to walk on the same path, knowing that there is something that needed to be done. Given the fact that there were already very shady things happening can Hobbs Bay, he wanted to turn the situation around so that these corrupt practices could actually benefit the people around the area who actually care about the place and not the elite folks who live at Metropolis.
Soon, Bruno starts climbing up the ladder at his business, where he builds a criminal chain of loyal people to help him whenever he needs. He even buys a house and makes things official with Peia. Later, Boss Moxie finally understands all his moves about how Bruno wants to take over her business. Soon, we see that Peia also declares her love for Bruno and murders Moxie.
The two then got married after this. Elsewhere, we see that Lois is not in a great situation at all. In fact, everything is slipping out of hand as she is getting sicker by the day. There is also pressure on her to be successful at her job as a journalist while also taking care of her kids and being a pillar of society.
