Villains Are Destined to Die Chapter 118 starts with Callisto, Winter, and Penelope going toward the cave when they hear a man’s scream. Winter casts an invisibility spell over all three of them and advises them not to shout loudly. Their sounds would not travel outside and stay blocked. He also tells them not to use any magic skills while in the invisibility spell, as that may cause it to break.
He says to refrain from attacking anyone as there is no idea how many enemies are present there. As they move forward, they come across the place where Leila’s supporters created a base after their base was destroyed to ashes. Penelope observes everything as she wonders who the man in the white robe is. It seems like there would be a sacrifice made.
Soon enough, a man struggling is brought forward to that person in the white robe, which is when she notices that the person in the white robe is not a man but rather a woman. The woman kisses that struggling man, who instantly stops resisting and soon turns into ashes. Watching what happens shocks all of them as they wonder what type of people these followers are like.
Soon these people ask for the ‘mirror’ to be brought out, and it’s Raon. The people talk about the masked child being the most powerful and say how he would be useful. They talk about throwing him away as food to the monsters after extracting all of his mana.
Callisto wonders what they can do now as they know they cannot touch that woman as she is somehow irresistible. Winter calls out for their attention with a plan and says that he will draw their attention, and when that happens, Penelope should secretly take the lion-masked child and escape with magic.
Penelope brings up the fact that she cannot use magic movements, and when being countered that she used it the last time in the hunting competition, Penelope is rendered speechless as she cannot say how she cannot use that unless the system allows it.
But before anything else can be said, Winter notices fragments coming out in the air which indicates that something is broken. He sees something in the woman’s hands — an artifact acquired by the Leila tribe that can dig into an opponent’s inner world and restrain their spirit. Winter wonders how she was able to brainwash such strong witches.
The chapter ends with Winter suddenly using magic himself, which he strongly opposed when he came to the conclusion that the woman in the white robe may use that artifact on Raon as he runs towards it to destroy the weapon.
This chapter was filled with dialogues and important information about the disappearance of children, along with the whereabouts of the wizard. This chapter had all the readers hooked and wondering where things would turn now.
