Wish Upon A Husband Chapter 16: Recap
In the previous chapter, we saw Veldemere asking Renea if something had happened at the guild; Renea thought for a while and then said that a maid tried to steal the “Gem.” Taking this opportunity, she tries to inquire more about the Gem to Veldemere.
He was initially confused, as he didn’t understand what gem she was talking about. So, Renea clarified that the Red Gem she had used to summon him belonged to the guild but disappeared after she made her wish. With this context, Veldemere deduces that she must be speaking about the “Bloody Sapphire,” which fused with his blood, and only when he absorbs it does life begin to flow once more in his veins.
Veldemere looks up at Renea, flirting as he compliments her by saying that the Bloody Sapphire would be most becoming on her as a necklace. Renea is flustered, and they both are about to kiss when Shapiro interrupts, which infuriates her. The following day, She goes back to her mansion and makes a plan to teach Veldemere’s familiar, Shapiro, a lesson, as he keeps interrupting their sweet newlywed life.
Then the scene cuts to Shapiro worriedly asking Veldemere if there was something he could do to help. But, Veldemere declines his offers believing that it is something he has to do on his own to become an exemplary husband whom Renea loves dearly. Shapiro is irritated by the fact that his master has fallen for such an insatiable woman. At that moment, he hears Renea calling for him and rushes to her while throwing a silent tantrum.

The sun had settled, and Renea was out cleaning leaves when Shapiro arrived; he asked her whether it was the right time to clean fallen leaves and what she did around the house once she got back from work. She pretends not to hear him and asks if he could come a little closer.
He is annoyed but still steps forward before freezing, shocked to find a magic circle. Or, more specifically, one that steals a familiar’s magic. Renea looks at him while smirking and says it was unfortunate; if only he had taken a step further, she would have gotten what she wanted—the End.
