‘Yaneura no Rudger’ Reveals Main Cast, Trailer

The official website for the Yaneura no Rudger (The Imaginary) anime movie revealed the main cast, a trailer, a second teaser trailer and key visual (pictured) on Monday. The movie was originally scheduled to be screened in Japan last summer but was delayed due to production challenges. It is now scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on December 15.

Rudger: Kokoro Terada

Amanda: Rio Suzuki (Chiisana Eiyuu: Kani to Tamago to Toumei Ningen)

Lizzie: Sakura Andou

Emily: Riisa Naka (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo)

Zinzan: Takayuki Yamada (Neko no Ongaeshi)

Granny Downbeat: Atsuko Takahata (Kaguya-hime no Monogatari)

Mr Bunting: Issey Ogata (Hi no Tori: Eden no Sora)

Yoshiyuki Momose (Ni no Kuni) is directing the movie at Studio Ponoc. Yoshiaki Nishimura (Omoide no Marnie) is serving as producer.

The movie is based on A.F. Harrold’s The Imaginary novel. Bloomsbury Publishing released the children’s fantasy novel with illustrations by Emily Gravett (Wolves, Little Mouse’s Big Book of Fears) in October 2014.
