Later in the chapter, we see Kiku goes to the place where Kou and Mahiru are, where she asks Mahiru that is everything went well and is okay; Mahiru says he is okay and there is nothing to worry about, and then he approaches Kou and says that he wanna be alone with her for a bit.
When Mahiru is about to leave, Kou shouts and says that they will be waiting for him there until he comes back because he does wanna hit him just once after all, and when he is done, make sure he visits him again and then wishes him all the best. In his reply, Mahiru says that there is also something he wanted him to know, and he says that even after all that, it is his win!
When Mahiru and Kiku leave, Kou says to Akira that he is gonna stick around there and asks him what she is going to do, to which she replies that she is also gonna be along with him. Akira asks him if he is cold because he is wearing a pretty light dress.

Mahiru and Kiku go to sit on a bench near a lighthouse and lake, and Mahiru says that he has always wanted to go there and show her that view. He has that a long time ago, when his brother was still alive, they were on a family trip to Hokkaido.
They had planned to visit that very cape, but on that day, his brother caught a cold, and this is why they decided to cancel their plans and stay at the guest house. Mahiru was already disappointed because he was really looking forward to it.
Mahiru thought to himself that everything was ruined because of his big brother, but at the same time, his brother said to their mother that it was okay. She should not feel sad and look over Mahiru because he is full of energy but won’t get to g anywhere. In the end, Mahiru and his mom ended up going, while their dad stayed with his brother.
At sight, in the flashback, Mahiru says to his mother that this place is really good. He loves the flowers because they are really good; he also said that he is going to take over her flower shop since he loves looking at them, and as his brother does not like as many flowers as him, he wouldn’t get how great that sight was.

After hearing that, their mother says that he wishes he could see that too, but for now, they took a lot of pictures to show to his brother. Mahiru, in the present time, revealed that after that incident, his brother died.
Mahiru says that with how dark it is, you cannot see anything right now, but the view there is so pretty that you think to yourself, “I would not mind dying here” that is also the reason why Mahiru brought Kiku there.
