The couple have since been receiving an outpouring of support from their Saskatchewan community. For Sheeran’s role in all of this, Benitez is forever grateful.
“I can’t explain how awesome it was and I have to thank Ed Sheeran for that,” he said. “I’m a rock dude, right? I don’t listen to pop music. For what this guy did, we need more musicians like him around.”
