From humble beginnings to becoming one of the most well-known humorists, Pat Cooper is rightfully regarded as one of the best comedians on television during the years 1950s to 1970s. Despite having lesser exposure to big studios and Hollywood, Pat managed to create his way to the top, leaving behind a legacy of great jokes and anger that remains unmatched.

Born on July 31st, 1929, Pat Cooper’s parents were both hardworking people, with his father being a bricklayer from Italy. Cooper’s mother, on the other hand, was born and brought up in NYC. Although Pat hadn’t revealed much of his life early life before he stepped into the world of comedy, from his earliest stand-up jokes, we can assume that he was not interested in school and wanted to start his actual career as soon as possible.

Believed to have died of natural causes, Cooper was still living in his usual Las Vegas home that he talked about in many of his shows. Pat leaves behind sons and daughters that now have their own little families.

Even after facing pressure from his father to become a bricklayer like himself, Pat Cooper, born Pasquale Caputo, had always known what he wanted. It was in the 1950s that Cooper found his calling and started to perform on stages all around New York City. From nightclubs to small programs, you could catch a glimpse of Pat at any of these events, trying his best to make people laugh with his witty and relatable jokes. 

After becoming a household name due to these smaller events, Pat Cooper was called to perform at “The Jack Gleason Show.” This turned out to be one of the best performances of Pat’s life as he not only became more popular, but the stand-up feature also ended up creating possibilities for Cooper to star in movies and TV shows. Following his national success, Pat started appearing as the main comedian in the country’s finest nightclubs, such as the Copacabana, Latin Casino, 500 Club, and many others. 

One of his programs at the time was shown on the same stage as Frank Sinatra, Sergio Franchi, and Bobby Vinton. Regardless of his high status, Pat maintained his humble nature but also developed a characteristic anger-filled way of conveying comedy that eventually became tied to his persona. Cooper was hilariously titled “Comedian of Outrage” as he would often burst out in anger on the stage and on sets. Pat has also done shows in Broadway’s Palace Theatre and New York Friars Club.

Since the sitcom Seinfeld was the talk of the town in the 1990s, Cooper was called to play a short part on the show, and the episode he starred in was titled “The Friar’s Club.” Although he has performed in many places, Pat’s best moments in the later years were seen on The Howard Stern Show, on which he was supposedly an open-invitation guest, owing to his closeness with Howard Stern.

Pat Cooper married three times in the course of his lifetime, with the first marriage with Dolores Nola consisting of two biological children. In his 80s, Pat started dating Emily Conner, who was someone he had known for a long time. It’s believed that Cooper sadly didn’t have a great relationship with his children, as he was caught having feuds with them on live radio. Pat lived to be 93, sharing his classic humor and pieces of wisdom along the way.
