The anime adapts FUNA‘s fantasy story, which began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2015. Kodansha acquired the novel and published the first volume in June 2017, featuring illustrations by Sukima. The ninth volume released on March 2.
A manga adaptation by Hibiki Kokonoe began serializing in Suiyoubi no Sirius in June 2017. The ninth volume was released in December 2021.
J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga in English in December 2018. The eighth novel volume went on sale in February 2023, and the ninth manga volume was released on June 1.
