Ranker’s Return (Remake) is the story of Kang Hyun-Wu. A couple of years ago, he was the No. 1 Player on Arena. A Hyper Interactive Online Multiplayer Game. After getting the most, he could attain from the game, and he deleted his account altogether. His reasoning was that he started playing the game just for entertainment. And now, he wants to focus on the real world. He wants to join the military.

After he is finished with his Mandatory Service, he will inherit his father’s company and work there. However, fate had other plans for Kang Hyun-Wu. His father contracted some mysterious illness one day and became bedridden. Without his father, the company imploded and had to declare bankruptcy. By the time he was done with his deployment, there was nothing left for him to inherit.

Hyun-Wu is now working at a convenience store at minimum wage. In the years since he quit Arena, it became a very popular game. And an excellent source to earn money. His friend Kong Young-Chan reached out to him to offer help, but Hyun-Wu never accepted any of it. His friend tells him to return back to the game as for a man of his skills; it will be easy to make money fast.

He discovered that they cost almost as much as three months of his salary. At the mall, he runs into the son of his Dad’s Ex-Business Partner. His son boasted about how his father was the one that caused their downfall. In a moment of rage, Hyun-Wu attacks him.

Hyun-Wu makes a vow to take revenge on those who wronged him. He finally reached out to Young-Chan. He sets Hyun-Wu with everything he needs to start back up in Arena. His making a new account with the game sent alarms down in the game’s office. They remember him from his former glory days. From the get-go, he took on more and more challenging tasks.

In just one day, he climbed to Level 10, gained a class, and a pet, earned enough money to pay for his father’s treatment, and had money left over to buy gear. All in all, it was a good day. He logged out and talked with Young-Chan. He asked him to record his gaming sessions so he could put together a debut video for the former No. 1 Player. Furthermore, Young-Chan offered to be his manager.

In Ranker’s Return (Remake) Chapter 95, we see Hyun-Wu fighting the High Black Mage Gorden. Hyun-Wu was able to bait Gorden into phase 2 successfully. The Black Mage is outraged at his deceit. He hates all adventurers and promises to kill each and every one of them that crosses paths with him. To defeat Hyun-Wu, the Black Mage summons his strongest partner, Pipi, the Death Knight.

Gorden orders Pipi to cut off all of Hyun-Wu’s limbs. The death mage is an extremely powerful opponent. With the black mage using his abilities to boost Pipi, fighting him has become even more difficult. Hyun-Wu calls for backup and summons Tangy to his side. Tangy is in mid-conversation and yells at Hyun-Wu for his terrible timing. He asks Tangy to distract the black mage.

Tangy buffs Hyun-Wu’s stats and moves toward Gorden. Gorden is not in the least worried about a talking teddy bear. He soon realizes that his biggest mistake was judging a book by its cover. Tangy proved extremely competent in attacks. He displays a vast amount of magic, attacking the black mage with ice, lightning, fire, etc. He pushes Gorden into a corner.

On his last leg, Gorden Starts chanting. He is trying to use a spell, something he was saving for emergencies. Tangy realizes this and asks him the same. To protect himself, Gorden had a protective dome. Tangy climbs over it and uses Howl to shatter the dome and break his chant. Due to this attack, he is unable to cast any magic temporarily. Gorden cannot believe that he was defeated by a bear.

At the same time, Hyun-Wu is fighting the Death Mage, along with the buffs offered by Tangy, the buffs he received from killing that named beast from the main scenario, and the buffs from the Giant Skills he was able to go toe to toe against the death mage. By the end, both High Black Mage Gorden and Pipi the Death Knight were defeated. A message appears saying they defeated them.

To Say Tangy was the MVP of the last chapter would be an understatement. He was able to singlehandedly defeat a High Black Mage. Yes, it was mostly because the High Black Mage underestimated his skills. But even after, he showed us an amazing arsenal of magical abilities. He is a real-life example of looks can be deceiving. Reminds me of Kon from Bleach.

In chapter 96, we should see Hyun-Wu and Tangy reveling in their success. It’s not a small achievement. Since they were such hard opponents, the rewards should also be on such a level. We can only imagine the stuff the mage dropped. We can assume they will be magic related. From the usual trend, there will be items that buff his stats. In this case, it should increase his magic stats.

Furthermore, he can now return to his friends and help them out. Since he leveled up after the fight, his strength and stamina should be refilled. He can now help his mates to get back on their feet. Tangy was summoned right before he could help Mason. The mana of the healer depleted from just removing the Debuff. Perhaps Hyun-Wu will get an item that can be used to heal his team.
