After failing to collect “the heart of the blue sea”, Lucretia decided to visit the astrologer Gypsi once again to ask her if there is any other way to help her daughter Isabella from her horrifying future. While Lucretia is on her way, Gypsi thinks of how she scammed Lucretia by making her bring “the heart of the blue sea”.
She would get 1000 Dukatos from Countess Rubina if she was able to hand her the artefact but Lucretia thinks that it’s for the sake of her daughter’s future. Lucretia arrives at the astrologer’s house and Gypsi immediately asks her if she brought the object with her but Lucretia denies it by saying that she ran into a problem.
Lucretia tells Gypsi that she couldn’t get the heart of the blue sea which worries Gypsi as she says that it would be difficult to perform the purification ceremony without that object. She thinks that now that she hasn’t gotten the heart of the blue sea, she can’t get any money from Countess Rubina and so her only way to get money is to coax Lucretia who is so desperate to help her daughter.
She tells Lucretia that the ceremony would require a lot of ingredients and a lot of care. Lucretia agrees to do anything if it would help her daughter. Gypsi tells her that it would be difficult, but she insists on doing it, falling right into the trap set up by the astrologer.
Gypsi lists the items, namely the blood of a dead frog, the energy of a solitary buddha, a tonic originating from the Moor empire, Frankincense from the Yesak mountain, gold that melts like lead, and 200 Dukatos. Ariadne thinks that if Lucretia visited Lazione’s dress shop before visiting the astrologer, then that would mean that she wanted to collect funds but Ariadne wonders why she would need such a substantial amount of money. As she tries to think of the reasons, a servant comes rushing towards Ariadne and alarms her that his eminence is headed towards her room.
Ariadne returns to her room and finds her father and Lucretia there. She looks around and sees blood paintings and a box containing the heart of the blue sea, which makes her think that some black magic is going on here.
The Eminence gets extremely furious at Lucretia, and despite his forgiving nature, he decides to throw Lucretia out of the house this time as she disgraced the De Mare family. The Eminence hands over the De Mare ring to Ariadne giving her full authority over the Cardinal’s household and walks away.
