The Game That I Came From Chapter 178: Recap
In Chapter 178, we saw a new pet system get introduced in the game and Ling Ce finding the very first pet in the entire game. The pet turns out to be a kid who refers to Ling Ce as her daddy, and so Ling Ce decides to take full care of her. Stillwaters and the others also take an interest in this new pet system. The other players discuss the new update and decide to form teams and set out to find pets. Some players mention that they heard someone already got a pet, while others reply that it’s Penumbra’s guild master.
Ling Ce overhears everyone talking and learns that he is the first player to get a pet, and so he realizes that he won’t find any waiting line at the place for the rank appraisal. He recalls his last life and remembers how the pet alliance was always jam-packed, as the pet system makes up a huge part of upgrading one’s power in the game. Ling Ce looks at his pet and thinks that he should make sure he doesn’t grab much attention.
Ling Ce arrives at the pet alliance and he finds it empty as the other players are all busy finding pets due to the update being recently released. The NPC welcomes Ling Ce and asks him to choose what he wants to do. Ling Ce finds the pet appraisal option and the renaming option, which is all he needs. He also looks at the rest of the menu while his pet roams around. Ling Ce’s pet tries to talk to the NPC, but Ling Ce tells her that she wouldn’t respond to a pet as they are simply a part of programming with limited AI.
The pet still tries to talk, and suddenly, the NPC notices her and responds. She asks her if she came with her owner to get appraised, and the pet replies that Ling Ce is her daddy. Ling Ce wonders how a pet could interact with an NPC and even have a conversation. They arrive at the appraisal room, and Ling Ce asks his pet to go inside the apparatus. The pet refuses to go at first, but she happily enters when Ling Ce promises her to buy chocolates later.
Ling Ce believes that his pet has gone through a double mutation, so she must be at least advanced level. He recalls his previous life and remembers how strong players with Advance rank pets were, and so he hopes to have a special rank this time. The appraisal results show up, and Ling Ce finds out that his pet has both Evil and Dark attributes making her a special mutation of demon and human. He looks at the rank, but it comes out as unknown. The NPC tells Ling Ce that his pet has a bloodline that does not belong to pets, and so she can’t be ranked.
Ling Ce forgets all his worries when his pet comes running to him, asking for candies. He decides to name her dumpling, which makes her happy. He suddenly gets a call from Stillwater, who asks him to come back immediately as the number 1 guilds guild master, Fate diviner, has come to see him.
