Yumeochi: Dreaming of Falling For You Chapter 22: Recap
Yamaki enters the shop, and Chono gets startled by seeing her after so long. He takes the initiative and apologizes for what he did the last time they met, but Yamaki suddenly bows down to him and apologizes for not contacting him all this time. She explains that something came up with her family because of this, she had to move far away and reschedule her shifts.
Yamaki further explains that this is the reason she wasn’t able to meet Chono, and the fact that she doesn’t even have Chono’s contact information made it all the more difficult for her to tell him anything. Chono feels comforted after hearing the real reason why Yamaki didn’t contact him.
They both then get seated to continue their conversation. Yamaki says that her mom packed their bags out of the blue one day and asked her to go to Hokkaido to her grandparent’s house along with her.
Chono asks Yamaki if this was because her mom wanted to skip towns, but Yamaki replies that it was because she found out that her dad was cheating on her. Yamaki says this with a straight face which leaves Chono embarrassed, and so he apologizes for assuming stuff.
Yamaki smiles and says that such stuff happens all the time in her house, which confuses Chono even more, but he still feels at ease by seeing Yamaki talk so freely after what happened last time.
Yamaki says that after she moved, she only kept thinking about apologizing to Chono as she thought that it was childish of her to leave him all alone.
Chono says that she did nothing wrong, which makes her happy as she thought he would get mad. Yamaki then asks Chono if he’s free after work, and they both go out for a walk. After some time, Yamaki turns towards Chono and randomly asks him if he has a crush on someone.
Chono gets flustered by this sudden question, and he thinks of all the possible scenarios that could happen. He concludes that if he dated in real life, then he won’t be able to relive his youth, and so he replies that he does have a crush on someone, but he can’t answer Yamaki’s question. Yamaki asks Chono if his answer would’ve been different if she asked it the last time, and Chono agrees with her.
Yamaki then returns the manga she borrowed from Chono and walks away to catch her flight. Yamaki ran away while sweating heavily as she couldn’t decide one thing even after she got the same part-time job as her school crush.
She thinks about how she couldn’t even talk to Chono when she was in school, and so she wonders if she could live her high school life over again to see what would’ve happened. The manga “Dreaming of Falling In Love With You” is shown in the last panel lying in the corner.
